Exercise: The AI Capabilities Card Sort

Time required: 10 minutes

Below is a list of twelve tasks. Your job is to sort each one into one of four categories:

Category	What It Means
AI Excels	AI can do this reliably and well, often better or faster than most people
AI is Decent	AI can do a reasonable job, but the output needs human review and refinement
AI Struggles	AI will attempt this but frequently gets it wrong or produces unreliable results
AI Can't Do This	AI is fundamentally unable to perform this task

The Tasks

1. Summarise a 20-page report into five key bullet points
2. Predict your company's revenue for next quarter
3. Write a poem in the style of W.B. Yeats
4. Remember a conversation you had with it three months ago
5. Verify whether a specific legal citation is real and accurate
6. Generate a solid first draft of a blog post on a topic you specify
7. Translate a business email from English to French
8. Tell you definitively whether a contract clause is legally enforceable
9. Brainstorm fifteen names for a new product
10. Accurately count the number of times the letter "r" appears in the word "strawberry"
11. Rewrite a technical paragraph so a non-expert can understand it
12. Access your company's internal sales database to pull last month's figures
